How We Can Help
Gambling can be a fun and harmless activity for some people, but it can also be addictive and destructive for others. The Welsh Gambling Education Hub Adferiad aims to raise awareness and educate young people about the dangers of gambling in order to prevent addiction.
We provide a range of services for young people:
- Information and advice about gambling, including the risks and signs of addiction
- Workshops and educational programmes for young people and their families
- Support to young people who are struggling with a gambling problem.
We are committed to working with young people, their families, and the wider community to raise awareness of the dangers of gambling and to prevent addiction.
Our Work
Our workshops and educational programmes cover a range of topics, including:
- The risks of gambling
- The signs of gambling addiction
- How to set limits on gambling
- How to get help if you are struggling with a gambling problem
We also offer support to young people who are struggling with a gambling problem. This support can include counselling, group therapy, and financial advice.

Gambling Support Services
If you are concerned about a young person who is struggling with a gambling problem, then please be aware that as well as the programme we provide, there are a wide range of support services available.
Ygam is an award-winning charity with a mission to prevent children and young people from experiencing gaming and gambling harms through awareness raising, education and research. Through a portfolio of evidence-based programmes, we develop and deliver training and resources for a range of groups who have influence over children and young people.

Gambling Commission – The Gambling Commission is the independent regulator of gambling in Great Britain. They have a website with information about gambling, including advice for young people and their families.
Gambling Anonymous – Gambling Anonymous is a 12-step support group for people with gambling problems with meetings held all over Wales.
